This client were originally wanting SFX but after reading the script and seeing Laura's animatics it was clear this piece was going to need a touch of original music to help the whole thing flow, particularly in the "mixtape" section.
There is a lot I enjoyed making for this piece. The sounds when the main character is cursing at her mother were particularly fun and I feel I'll be using this technique again in other projects. The clip of another character screaming into a pillow took a surprising amount of takes to get the "right scream"-- not too aggressive, but enough to be heard clearly without peeking and overwhelming the voice over.
